Y4 Yorkshire Wildlife Park Trip – Monday 1st July
As part of our topic work on ‘The Amazon Rainforest’ and our science topic ‘Habitats’, we have arranged for the children to visit Yorkshire Wildlife Park. The park will offer fantastic learning opportunities about different animals, creatures, insects and plants, including an educational session on ‘World Habitats’ where the children will be given the opportunity to handle live creatures. Pupils will learn the names of some of the plants and animals, as well as understanding simple food chains and the adaptations of the creatures that make these different habitats their home. All classes will be visiting on Monday 1st July. The coach will be departing at 09:00 and arriving back at school at 16:00.
We will require parent help on the visit – please follow the link on the email to complete the online volunteer form.
Remember to bring a packed lunch and suitable clothing (waterproofs, sensible footwear, sun hats etc). Please be aware that the children will have to carry their belongings as storage is not available at the park. We will remind children of what they need closer to the trip – depending on the weather forecast!
To cover the costs for this visit, we are asking for a contribution of £19.00 per child. As with all activities of this kind, we can only ask for a voluntary contribution, but should insufficient funds be received, the event may have to be cancelled.
We are now using sQuid (the secure online service) to enable parents/carers to make contributions towards all visits. Please note that we no longer accept payment by cash or cheque. You will be able to make payments from Thursday 9th May. Please contact the school office if you have difficulty with this method of payment.
