Year 4 visit Tapton Congregational Church

Today the whole of the Year 4 group went over the road to Tapton Congregational Church.  On arrival, we were welcomed by Reverend Knockles and very soon we set about on a couple of tasks.  Our first one was to make a corn dolly decoration for the Harvest service that is happening on Sunday. We made these out of cheerios and pipe cleaners. We also learnt about the history of the harvest festival and thought about how fortunate we are to have food readily available.  Our second activity was to locate some of the features around the church itself.  Reverend Knockles then explained the use of the different features and gave us lots of interesting information that we are going to use in class in our R.E. lessons.

Y4JP do yoga with Collette

This week it was Y4JP's turn to learn yoga poses with Collette. We really enjoyed ourselves and we have even been practising yoga in our classroom. It helps us to be calm and focus. Harry, Isla and Flo are very good at it  and they are going to lead us in a yoga routine in our class assembly next week.

Our class assembly is at 2.30pm on Tuesday 22nd October. We look forward to seeing you there!

At Parents' Evening, we had lots of questions about recommended reading books for Year 4. The Book Trust have released lists of good reads from 2019 so far. Check them out here:
