In Y5NL last week, we were thinking of alternative endings for The Highwayman poem. This week, we wrote our own final stanzas for the poem, using our best ideas. We had to use the same rhyming pattern as the original poem. We also used pencil and black pens to draw illustrations for our poems. The final work looks fantastic and a bit spooky.

This week in Y5NL, we have been in the woods, doing a scavenger hunt. We worked in small groups to find a collection of things. Some of the things we were looking for were: smooth, rough, smooth, long, round, red, yellow, man made, scented and more. 

It had been snowing in the morning and we got quite cold (and quite muddy too!). We had some hot chocolate and biscuits to get warm. We had lots of fun.
