Friday October 23rd
We have come to the end of our first half term in Y5 and what a fantastic half term it has been! We have worked hard and had a lot of fun at the same time. The Y5 teachers are all very impressed with how the children have settled in - well done everyone and have a great half term break!
Last week Y5NL had a great time doing Forest Schools. We had to design and build an assault course for a squirrel.. We got some ideas from watching an old advert with the Mission Impossible music. We made some videos about how the assault courses would work. Here are some photos of us working. We had hot chocolate and, because it was Mohammed's last day, he had brought in some treats for us to have. It was really yummy!
This week, Y5NL have painted our Canopic jars that we made on Egyptian day. Here are the finished jars. I think you will agree that we have done a good job.
Y5WR have had a great end to the half term, by making a squirrel obstacle course in the woods and playing hide and seek.
In Year 5BB, we have been working hard to complete our best writing of our diaries, finishing off our maths and learning all about Egyptian farming in topic. The class performed their Egyptian sand dance in PE; we were all impressed by the amazing routines they created as well as the different groups they worked in. Many of the class chose to work with people that they would not usually work with if they were given the choice. We did also find time to go to the woods and make obstacle courses for squirrels! We had lots of fun doing this and worked up a thirst; luckily, we had time for a quick hot chocolate break.
We have also been busy finishing off our Egyptian amulets/jars that we made on Egyptian day! Well done Year 5 BB: you have had an excellent first half term back in school! Enjoy a well-earned rest.
