International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination - Articles 2, 12 & 30

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination has been commemorated on the 21 March for over 60 years, since police in South Africa opened fire and killed 69 people who were peacefully protesting against apartheid.

While apartheid has now been abolished in South Africa, racism is still all too common around the world. Racism is an emotional topic so this week's activities will be carefully considered to spark discussions and reflections on race and racism.
