Welcome back to school.

Year 5 have a had a great first full week back at school. It is lovely to have everyone back!

This week, we launched our Forest Schools work with a visit from Rohan, from Foresteers. He took each class for a half day session in the woods and we had lots of fun, while learning new skills.

Y5NL really enjoyed: playing on the rope swing; building dens; toasting marshmallows and eating them; drinking hot chocolate; whittling sticks (to toast the marshmallows on); collecting wood for the fire and using a bill hook to split it; putting mud on our faces; using a bow saw to cut wood; wafting the fire to make it stronger and then putting it out carefully; and playing lots of different games.

It was a great way to get to know our new class and we are looking forward to doing more forest schools sessions with our teacher.  Here a some photos of what we did.
