What Y6 have been up to this week...

We have loved seeing what the Year 6 children have been up to this week - they know how to keep themselves busy.

In maths, they have been looking into the Fibonacci sequence. This is a sequence that is made by adding the two previous numbers together, ie:

0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 etc

When we use these numbers to make squares of these sizes, it creates a spiral - this is often seen in nature. Here are some of the spirals that they have created:

Year 6 have also been designing their own theme parks, using an allocated budget. Here are some of their designs:


In English, Y6 have been reading the story of the Giant's Necklace. Then they have retold the story and Harry even acted out the story, with the help of his sister.

In science, Y6 have been looking at the circulatory system. They have identified the major organs of the body and then, this week, have focused on the heart.
