A day by the sea.......
The whole year group had a fabulous (and very long!) day out in Scarborough on Wednesday. The weather was kind to us and it was lovely to be by the sea.
The day was action-packed. We had a workshop at the art gallery where we looked closely at a few Victorian paintings of Scarborough. We also looked around the castle. It was good to see the castle in real life after learning about it in class.
We did a lot of walking too and we were able to spot the two famous hotels we knew about - the Grand Hotel which is all themed around time and the Holbeck Hall Hotel which slipped into the sea because of coastal erosion.
And, of course, we just HAD to have a paddle and an ice cream! Take a look at our photographs to see what a brilliant time we had.

We are so proud of our children. They were a pleasure to be with, beautifully behaved and fantastic ambassadors for Lydgate Junior School.
We really did like to be beside the seaside!
