Friday 10th December 2021

Last week, we watched a pitch from the TV show Dragons Den. We were inspired to create our own new inventions and ideas, and then present them next week to the Y5 teachers. One winner will be chosen and will recieve a prize. As you can see, the pictures below are the class groups from Y5NC working on their pitches.

On Thursday this week, we had a special Christmas carolling event where some of our wonderful musicians performed for parents outside the school gates. We heard music from all the Year 6 children, the swing band, hand bells and the choir. The children all enjoyed performing and everyone in the audience enjoyed listening! We all feel very festive now and are looking forward to Christmas.

In Y5BB we have been really enjoying our indoor PE lessons. Since the beginning of this half term, we have been having lessons with Mr Wright on a Friday morning. We have been working hard to plan and perform our own routines which include balances and rotations. We have also learned how to set up and put away the apparatus.

We would also like to give a special mention to our Y5 girls' football team who represented our school at a competition at Concord Sports Centre. The girls played brilliantly and we are all very proud of them. They won 1 game, drew 2 and lost 1. A fantastic job - Well done girls! They were also delighted to meet some professional footballers from Sheffield United Women FC who were extremely kind and explained their lifestyle as a professional footballer. Daisy and Charlotte were even lucky enough to recieve a pair of goalkeeping gloves from the Sheffield United Women players!
