Friday 15th March
On Wednesday, some of the Y5 girls were invited to watch the Sweden vs Switzerland match in the Women's European Championships. We all had a wonderful time at the event especially chanting, "Sweden, Sweden, Sweden!" with Mr Wymer.
Here are some of our favourite parts:
On Friday, all of the Year 5 children went to visit the Sikh temple (called the Gurdwara) in Sheffield. It was a really interesting visit. We learnt that the Sikh holy book is called the Guru Granth Sahib and it is treated with great respect - it even has its own special bed. It is very hard to read and has been translated into lots of languages, so that everyone can read it for themselves. The Gurdwara provides food for many people in the Langar (a kind of kitchen) and everyone helps out. We learnt that music is important in the Sikh religion and got to see some musical instruments and to hear someone playing and singing. At the end of the trip, we had some juice and crisps before we got back on the coach.
