Y6CP

This week in Y6CP we have been learning about Black History Month. We each chose a person and conducted some research and then made a poster about them.

Also, we have started making our stick weaving where we are each making a talisman, they aren’t finished but we think they are looking good already.

This week we had forest school! We spent Monday afternoon and Thursday afternoon in the woods. On Monday we made spiders webs using sticks and string. It was hard. But we did it! On Thursday we had to make an assault course for a squirrel. It had to be above our shoulder height and travel between at least 5 trees. It also had to include a squirrel swing!

Y6SW

6SW have had an interesting week and a half learning from home but everyone has really stepped up to the challenge. We have completed a number of activities each day, including long division, studying and writing our own war poetry, forest schools, religious pilgrimages, SPAG work, Mandarin, RRS, P.E., ICT, ... In fact we have probably completed each and every subject and it has been great to see the varied and impressive work that the children have shared with us. Here is a sample of our work...

A selection of war poems...

Vincent's poem...

Yomna's poem...

Mini den designs...

A moon cake box and cake design by Annabel...

As each class have been working collaboratively to create their class RRS Charters, we decided that we would still create design entries and then as a class, we voted for which design we want to represent our class. The winning preferred design was by...

...Emily Smith. Well done Emily! :) It really is fantastic as it allows each pupil to create their own app icon, which will be presented in the theme of an electronic device as shown in this picture...

6HN

We have had a really busy week in HN, we have been finishing our flash back stories based on the kindertransport and we have completed some assessments. We all tried hard and are really proud of our selves.

Outside of lessons we have also begun to create a class newspaper which we are enjoying creating and reading. Miss Norris is really proud of our class for doing this completely on our own and says it is lovely to see us working together.

Finally, we have earned our class treat so Friday afternoon we are going to have a Halloween party and watch a film and wear our Halloween costumes. We hope everyone has a great half term.

It has been a great half term and we look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Tuesday 3rd November. We wish you all a lovely half term break with your families.
