Year 6 Prom
What a way to end our year! We had an amazing time at our 90s themed prom for Year 6. The committee members did an incredible job of making it a night to remember.
The artistic design team came up with the theme, which proved to be very popular. They designed and sent out invitations as well as creating photo wallets, signs and labels for the night.
Proove pizza came to the playground and everyone was able to enjoy their own pizza, freshly made in the mobile oven. There were also a huge array of freshly baked cakes, biscuits and treats. The PTFA kindly donated lots of doughnuts to share. The food committee did a fantastic job and we'd like to say a special thank you to Mrs Phillips and Mr Daw in organising the production of such yummy treats and mocktails.
Our hall was transported back in time with enormous gold chains strung across the room, lots of boom boxes made by the decoration committee, a banner painted by Miss Kania, CD curtain decorations as well as many smiley yellow faces! To add some colour and sparkle there were neon and disco ball balloons too. Big thanks to Mr Sharrock for helping get the job done.
What really made it a party was the presence of our resident Lydgate DJs... they might look familiar (thanks to both Mr Bs). Luckily, they were able to squeeze in a set for us before they headed out to Ibiza to do their summer stint!
Finally, we are very grateful to all the staff who stayed to help and joined in the party. A special mention must go to Mrs Purdom for capturing such a special occasion with gorgeous group photos and to Mrs Dutton, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to get the photos printed - despite the difficulties that the technology threw at them!
It really was a great way to finish off our year. The children have made us so proud with all of their hard work and have a been a pleasure to teach. We wish them lots of luck as they move onto their next chapter.
